Reserve Plum Brandy

To make our Reserve Plum Brandy, we use Castleton and Stanley plums from farms in Michigan. The fruit is shipped in crates to the distillery at the peak of ripeness. Each crate of approximately 1000 lbs is hand sorted and separated from the pits for fermentation. Some of the pits are left in the fermentation tanks to add depth and body to the brandy. Our unaged spirits are rested in stainless steel for a minimum of 9 weeks and are filtered before bottling. Our Reserve Plum Brandy is rested in new American oak from Kentucky, averaging one year or longer, before it is blended and chill filtered for bottling. The 25 gallons charred barrels are sourced from Kentucky and help preserve the plum aroma and flavor while bringing in additional roundness to the spirit.

Plum Brandy is deeply rooted in Eastern European culture. It is known as Slivovitz, and is generally made from Damson Plums.

Reserve Plum Brandy Cocktail Recipes

 

Plum Fashioned

2 oz Rhine Hall Reserve Plum Brandy

1/2 oz Rhine Hall Coffee Liqueur

2 dashes Angostura Bitters

2 dashes plum bitters

Stir with ice   |   Serve over large ice cube   |   Express + insert lemon peel

Plum Tonic

2 oz Rhine Hall Reserve Plum Brandy

1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice

1/2 oz Raspberry Syrup

Tonic

Combine all ingredients except Tonic | Shake | Strain into a collins glass | Top with Tonic | Garnish with Raspberries & Straw

Champagne Cocktail

2 oz Rhine Hall Reserve Plum Brandy

1 Sugar Cube

4 dashes Angostura Bitters

Sparkling Wine

Soak sugar cube in Angostura Bitters | Place in champagne flute | Fill with Sparkling Wine |Garnish with a lemon twist
